Hello Readers, welcome back to my blog.
This is the 13th book of the Psy-changeling series and it focuses on the second Psy relationship in the series as well as the destruction and redemption of the Psy race. I am still looking for the physical copy of this book in my area. All the usual places that I buy books from don’t have the physical copy of this UK edition, I did find it on MightyApe site but they don’t ship to UK, so if anyone sees the UK edition on a site that ships to the UK please link me up.
In the past 2 months I haven’t been able to read a Nalini Singh book and I am referring to the months of May and June – the time this review actually goes up might be different from my reading schedule – I was glad to return to my re-read of this series at the time when I had just given birth to my second baby. It was lovely to return to a familiar world while I try to navigate a new reality.

SUMMARY
Assassin. Soldier. Arrow. That is who Vasic is, who he will always be. His soul drenched in blood, his conscience heavy with the weight of all he’s done, he exists in the shadows, far from the hope his people can almost touch—if only they do not first drown in the murderous insanity of a lethal contagion. To stop the wave of death, Vasic must complete the simplest and most difficult mission of his life.
For if the Psy race is to survive, the empaths must wake…
Having rebuilt her life after medical “treatment” that violated her mind and sought to stifle her abilities, Ivy should have run from the black-clad Arrow with eyes of winter frost. But Ivy Jane has never done what she should. Now, she’ll fight for her people, and for this Arrow who stands as her living shield, yet believes he is beyond redemption. But as the world turns to screaming crimson, even Ivy’s fierce will may not be enough to save Vasic from the cold darkness…

Silence has fallen but the Psy population don’t know what that means or what they are to do next. The disease that is attacking the PsyNet continues to break out in different neighbourhoods, which turns normal Psy into psychotic murderers and they turn on each other.
Since the beginning of the Psy-changeling series, we have known about Vasic. As the only true teleporter in the Psy race, he has always been isolated from others and he carries guilt about all the deaths he had to cover up or met out for Silence. He is dedicated to the Arrow team and believes his sole purpose is to remain in the shadows.
The Es are essential in the fight against the disease on the Net but they have been suppressed and limited under Silence. Now that their skills are needed to combat this disease, most of them don’t know what to do or what they can do. Ivy has undergone brutally rigorous reconditioning that threatened to not just wipe her individuality but to turn her into a mindless zombie. Ivy agrees to join an experimental programme to explore her gifts in helping with the disease.
Vasic and Ivy represent hope of the possibility of a different life for the Arrows. They are the second Psy couple to form a bond that is similar to the changeling mating bond. It is so interesting that Vasic is an Arrow and Ivy is an empath which is similar to the relationship that started the series – Sacha is an empath that left the PsyNet and mated with the Alpha of the DarkRiver pack. The Es seem to always be the heralds of change in this series.
I loved the contrast of absolute destruction and chaos depicted at the start of the story to the peaceful and hopeful ceremony of Vasic and Ivy’s wedding ceremony at the end of the story which is why I rated the story 4 out of 5 stars.
