Happy new month. I would like to sincerely apologise to the author and Voracious readers only for how long it has taken me to put up my review.

SUMMARY

Lilla is fighting on the side of the refugees from oppression. But there is a bigger war brewing on the horizon – the Era War between the two ruling arch gods. It threatens not only Lilla’s home world, but everyone else’s in the Seven Galaxies. Enemies must become friends and allies in the desperate race to defeat the arch god before He finds her.

Review

Lilla lost her mother when she was young and the attention she seeks from her father is withheld because he is busy ruling their Kingdom and marrying a girl not much older than Lilla herself. Lilla is desperate to help her people and finds herself joining the rebels. There is more at stake than the rebels though. The arch god and goddess have started another era war that will devastate Lilla’s world. Lilla’s mother was a Lumenian, a child of the arch goddess and as her descendant, Lilla is the last Lumenian. The arch god is now hunting her so he can win this era war.

Such chemistry spitting sparks off the page every time Lilla and the general are in each other’s vicinity. People are dying, the general and Lilla are investigating this while Lilla’s father ignores the plight of the refugees in his Kingdom. There are 2 other guys vying for her attention and she wants her father’s attention which she is searching for in the rebel leader. Lilla has an unknown heritage which she is being pulled into when she just wants to focus on the needs of her people not the wider universe.

I gave it 3 out of 5 starts. It took me so long between getting this book and actually reading it and I am glad that I got to finish it. There were really short chapters and some of the chapters ended and started when they shouldn’t have. For example, when it is the middle of the scene, some chapters will end and start. I felt as though for the sake of having short chapters the author just ended the chapters wherever was convenient. I loved the language used, it was easy to understand and the relationship between the characters made the story more enjoyable. The story was told manly from one POV, which is the main protagonist’s and I always felt like, if don’t right a single POV telling can make the reader feel like they are not really seeing what’s going on in the plot of the story which might or might not be to the intent of the author. It was still a good story overall.
